The book "We Remember The Holocaust" begins with people's stories about what they remember from when they were in the holocaust. The first few people sound like the holocaust had "NO" effect on them what so ever and some of the people who can remember sound like they were german and were friends with jewish people watching their friends being taken from their homes, chased down, and shot in the street and didn't do any thing because they were to afraid to and they just were glad that it wasn't them. But then when you get to the 3rd or 4th page then you start to see some pictures of people being forced to do things they don't want to do.

Right now the people that are talking are starting to sound like the parents were afriad of their children coming home from school because Hitler started to make children start to become nazis and they were being taught how to become spies and start to beat up jewish people that are just walking on the streets. The jewih kids got kicked out of school and the jewish kids that weren't kicked out of school were getting beat up and bullied by the other kids it sounded very wrong.

Some of the people are starting to sound like they are giving up all hope and sound like they are helpless and can't find a place where they can live with out being tormented, beaten, killed, and thrown in jail. It sounds like it got so bad in europe that parents were afraid of their own children and were afraid to walk on the streets and they ran away to a different country and were drug back.

The jewish people are on an old broken down cattle boat headed towards palestine and the boat broke down and they were near the port of istanbul but none of them were aloud to come ashore then a tug boat hitched up to the boat and pulled the boat to the middle of the black sea and they were left out there for two months then the boat sank and every one except one person died. That was the only person to survive out of 768 people most of them died because they drowned the rest died because of the cold water or they died from getting stabbed by some sharp objects there were 78 children aboard when it sank.

Now the jewish people are being kicked out of their homes and put in to ghettos and the people are telling stories about what happened what they had to do and what they couldn't do. They could only bring what they could carry with them the possesions they left behind were furniture, clothing. Their homes, and buissnesses became Nazi property.

The woman who were in the holocaust remember that they were being degrated because they were stripped and took into the showers and got thier heads shaved so that they wouldn't recognize each other. They said that they felt ashamed, embarresed, and frightened all at the same time. They also said that this way their oppressors found to dehumanize and degrate all of them.

The reason they are talking about him is because he helped many jews cross the austrian boarder into switzerland. Then they are also talking about a few others who helped the jews escape. One of the people that helped them was father Marie-Benoit he saved thousands of french jews.

They are becoming used to each other at their hide out and they don't want any one to find them they still haven't adjusted to each other and are getting some what board but in order to survive for the amount of time they will be stuck in their hideout. They are in a fight because Mrs. Van Daan has a coat that is made of fur that her father gave her and Anne accidentally knocked milk over on it because she was talking about what she wanted to do when she grew up when the war was over. She was moving around alot when she knocked over the milk then Mrs. Van Daan grabbed her coat and ran up the stairs crying and said she could kill Anne for what she had done. Anne felt real bad for what she had done.

In the nightmares Anne has the S.S. are coming to get her and they were pulling her away from her family and she can't get away. Then her mother tried to calm her but Anne asked if she'd and get her father and her mother went and told Anne's father that Anne wanted him and Anne's father went to Anne's room and he could sense that his wife was feeling hurt then he went to Anne to comfort her so he could get back to sleep.

Now it's Hanukkah and they are getting presents from Anne most of them were made by Anne but some were bought by Meip because Anne asked Meip to. Mr.Dussel started to complain about peters cat because of his allergies and peters father said he wouldn't have to worry about he cat any more because they were getting rid of it because it ate to much food that they needed then they started to fight again.

Right now the people hiding are talking about the new year and Meip made them a cake and they are having another big fight and it's getting very bad and tense in the secret annex. The people in the hide out are all at each others throats except for Anne and Mr. frank. They are getting to know each other better kind of and peter is just starting to like Anne but not very much but as the story progresses they begin to really like each other.
